St George's Concert Series has just launched its 2019 season! Two magnificent and unmissable celebrations of Bach in Perth Concert Hall star WA's most extraordinary young musicians. And under the soaring arches of St George's Cathedral, two special guest performances bring you more intimate moments of peace and transcendence.

The 2019 St George's Concert Series is proudly presented by the St George's Cathedral Foundation for the Arts. Heartfelt thanks go to underwriting sponsors Julian and Alexandra Burt, and all supporters, for helping to make these concerts possible.

Bach's St Matthew Passion presented with the West Australian Symphony Orchestra

Conducted by Dr Joseph Nolan

Johann Sebastian Bach's St Matthew Passion stands as one of the pillars of Western sacred music: monumental, yet deeply affecting, powerful yet intimate. Joseph Nolan conducts WA's most treasured soloists with the West Australian Symphony Orchestra and the extraordinary young singers of St George's Cathedral Consort.

Renowned pianist Mark Coughlan will officially launch the hand-crafted Fazioli piano, generously gifted to St George's Cathedral, with pieces that show off its mellow singing quality and luxuriant sound.

Sir Francis Burt Memorial Organ Concert by Ben Sheen of St Thomas Fifth Avenue

Ben Sheen is Associate Organist and Assistant Director of Music at St Thomas Fifth Avenue, and winner of the prestigious Longwood Gardens International Organ Competition.
